Bethel Church Lodi Ca Web Site
Bethel Open Bible Church had a web site hosted by a company which marketed directly at churches. The "extra" tools were really nothing but links to off site 3rd party services generic to a lot of church sites. While people at the church were using a content management system, they experienced very little support and soon had a web site which was dominated by the ministry which knew the content management system the most.
They also had communication issues which busied staff with information confirmation calls. The communication flowed through one person so when that one person was not at the phone, many times no information was giving out, or worse yet, the wrong information was given out to people. They needed a 24 hour authoritative one-to-many information flow
The church was of medium size had struggled with "ministry identity". Many in the church did not know how to help, or what ministry needed help.
Fire Up Media Solutions
Fire Up Media chose to break a trend and show the entire menu as a unit to quickly show
- how busy the church was
- what ministries existed in the church
- to give each ministry a "home"
The unique feature of Site Inginter's Calendar Tool to allow one calendar to "pass on" its data to another calendar, allowed Bethel Church to give each ministry it's own Calendar of Events which was passed on to a Calendar on the Home page showing all events from all ministries. This allowed each ministry to control their information but to be seen as a sub section of the entire church.
Since Fire Up Media was a local company within easy driving distance, Fire Up Media was able to help keep and maintain certain global site standards.
The Result
The result was slow to come. Church members were not use to using a web site for information, but they quickly realized what the site had to offer as use sky rocketed.
Bethel Church now sees their current site as an "important first step" and has engaged Fire Up Media to keep much of the communication of the site but redesign the site to reflect the growing use of the site and the feature requests from their members.
