Do you need a Web Plan?

There are two very core assumptions to be made:

  • A web site that can not be found will not be found. For 99.9% of the web sites, this is very bad and negates the purpose of a web site.
  • If a web site is found and the data is not easily retrieved, the data is "not found" and the user leaves the site.

By definition, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) uses keywords to make your site highly relevant to search engines, users and targeted traffic building campaigns - this is the heart of Internet Planning.

So before you start any web project, you will need to know:

  • who you want to attract to your web site
  • what data you will show your users
  • the keywords new traffic will use looking for your site and data
  • what users will do on your site.
  • how will you keep the data fresh and relevant

So yes, without an Internet plan in place before you start pretty much guarantees failure.
